Mar 09 - Pupils’ Assault Course Triumph

Pupils at the Royal Alexandra and Albert School raised over £200 for the charity ‘Help for Heroes’ which helps the wounded coming back from Afghanistan and Iraq. Pupils raced against teachers on an assault course that had been set up by 150 Recovery Company, a Territorial Army Unit based in Redhill.

The first race was between pupil Jessica Judge and teacher Miss Serena Shelton with Jessica emerging victorious after Miss Shelton fell off the last obstacle. In 90% of the races pupils emerged as winners, putting the teachers firmly in their place!

Dance and PE teacher, Becky Muir who organised the event said “This event is particularly relevant to the pupils at this school because many of our boarders come from Army families. They enjoyed participating in the races and also trying out the heavy lifting equipment the Army brought to the event”
