General Election – Liberal Democrat Candidate Visit

Following the announcement of the General Election, the Headmaster of the Royal Alexandra and Albert School was keen for local parliamentary candidates from all the main parties to have the opportunity to engage with Senior pupils.

Over three weeks, candidates from the Conservatives, Labour and Liberal Democrats have been invited to visit the School and meet with pupils.

Last week the School welcome Susan Gregory, the Labour candidate who spoke with pupils in assembly. You can read more about her visit here.

Today, we welcomed John Vincent, the Liberal Democrat candidate. Mr Vincent, who has previous election experience, came to speak with Year 10 pupils during their Citizenship lesson.

Mr Vincent introduced himself and talked about his aviation engineering background. He then invited pupils to ask questions about general politics, his party’s policies, and also about different types of government.

Pupils were keen and interested, and asked Mr Vincent a range of different questions.

Next Friday, the sitting member of parliament for Reigate, Crispin Blunt, will be sharing with pupils the Conservative point of view.
