Pupil Success at Public Speaking Festival

On Saturday 24th April, five pupils from the Royal Alexandra and Albert School competed against Gordon’s School and The Duke of York’s Military School in the first annual Festival of Public Speaking, organised as part of the State Boarding Forum.

Held at Gordon’s School, the event comprised junior, intermediate, senior and formal speaking competitions as well as coaching sessions provided by More Than Words. The School were represented in the junior individual event, intermediate individual event, and a team of Year 11 pupils represented the School in the formal competition. Amid stiff competition, all pupils spoke exceptionally well and Leo in 7WPE came away the victor of the Junior Individual Competition, speaking about the ‘Dangers of Mobile Phones’ and ‘Alex Rider’.

Congratulations to all involved on their great effort. We look forward to competing again next year when the competition will be held here at the Royal Alexandra and Albert School.
