Oscar Wins Gold Award in Chemistry Challenge

Oscar Brown, a Sixth Former at the Royal Alexandra and Albert School has won a prestigious Gold Award in a chemistry competition run by Cambridge University.  Teachers, who spotted his potential, put Oscar forward for the competition which involved a rigorous written Chemistry assessment paper.  After being marked by teachers, Oscar’s paper was sent to St Catharine’s College Cambridge for moderation.  His results were in the top 7% nationally.  Headmaster, Mark Dixon, presented Oscar with his certificate in a senior assembly. 

Oscar, who is studying Chemistry, Physics, Maths and Further Maths at A Level said “I am very pleased to have won this Gold Award.”

Mrs Bryony Potter, Head of Science said “Oscar is such an able student, we were confident he would achieve high marks in the Competition.  We are thrilled that he was won a Gold Award.”
