Dick and Dom in the Japanese Garden

It’s the last week of term at the Royal Alexandra and Albert School, and pupils have spent the week doing educational activities in the 260 acres of parkland surrounding the School. On Tuesday they were joined by CBBC stars Richard McCourt and Dominic Wood (aka Dick and Dom) who were filming scenes for their new series ‘Absolute Genius’ which aims to make science entertaining for children.

Gatton Park’s Japanese Garden was the setting for the scenes which will be in amusing ‘Zen’ sequences in the programme. The CBBC stars and their crew of 8 spent the morning filming on the Japanese Bridge and in the Tea House. They then spent some time talking to pupils and posing with them for photos.

Headmaster, Paul D Spencer Ellis said “There are very few schools that have their own Japanese Garden and I am pleased we were able to help the BBC by providing a good location for filming. I confess I was not aware of Dick and Dom until yesterday but the pupils certainly were and they were very excited when they saw them. Pupils appreciated having the opportunity to talk to Dick and Dom and have photos taken with them.”
