Aug 08 - Record GCSE results at ‘Outstanding’ school

Pupils at the non-selective state boarding school - the Royal Alexandra and Albert School received record results in their GCSEs this year.
- 78% of pupils got five or more GCSEs at A*-C
- 58% of pupils got five or more GCSEs at A*-C including English and Maths
- 100% pass rate (A*-C) for Physics
- For English language, which was taken by 104 pupils, 79% got A*-C
- 71% got A*-C in French
- 85% got A*-C in German

The successful GCSE results follow hot on the heels of the recent Ofsted report in which the School was assessed as ‘Outstanding’ in every category. Headmaster, Paul Spencer Ellis says;

“Staff in the boarding houses have commented on how hard pupils worked for their GCSEs and it is great to see that their efforts have been rewarded. I would like to congratulate them on their achievements and also to thank the teachers for their dedication and commitment which helped pupils towards this success."
