Dec 07 - The West End comes to Reigate

Dancers at the Royal Alexandra and Albert School put on a lively and colourful performance on the 8th December in their show ‘Eternal Dreams’. The show was a result of collaboration between the School and Fi Steps Performing Arts and Dance School. Horsham based Fi Steps has been teaching dance at the School since January this year and over 25 pupils have been working towards the show since then. Their efforts paid off with a polished performance in the School’s new Performing Arts Centre.

The packed audience was treated to an assortment of musical dance numbers that took them through the 70’s, 80’s and beyond. The opening number of ‘Jellicle Cats’ set the scene and the audience was blown away by the dramatic entrance, the stunning costumes, and the cat-like dancing. The pace continued throughout the show and concluded with the finale which was a rousing version of Queen’s ‘We will Rock You’.

Director of Studies at the School, John Ahern commented ‘We are pleased that our pupils have had the opportunity to take part in such a professionally run show. Fi has worked really hard with the girls since January and the result is a testament to the effort put in by Fi and all the dancers’.
