Headmaster becomes Head Chef

Year 10 pupils had a new teacher in their Food Technology lesson today. The GCSE curriculum requires pupils to learn how to adapt a family recipe so the Headmaster came to demonstrate some of his family’s recipes.

Pupils heard how the Headmaster’s family had adapted a meatballs recipe over the years. He also gave them his recipe for a meat dish, known by his family as ‘Greek Thing’. Pupils then cooked the two recipes and were able to make adjustments by adding or taking away ingredients. This gave them valuable practical experience to support their GCSE studies.

Headmaster Paul D Spencer Ellis said “I like to join pupils in food technology to share my recipes and help them develop a love of cooking. It’s such an important life skill and one they can really enjoy.”
