Rugby Team Champions


The Year 9 rugby team of the Royal Alexandra and Albert School have rounded off a terrific term by winning the District Rugby Tournament held at Warlingham RFC on Tuesday. The team of boys aged 13 and 14 remains unbeaten this season having won all their league and friendly fixtures this term.

At the tournament they beat the following teams
St Bedes 39-5
Carshalton Boys 35-5
De Stafford 43-0
Oxted 31-0

Team coach, teacher Dai Stephens says “Year 9 is an exceptional year with many outstanding players. They combine their sporting talent with faultless teamwork and this explains why they have been so successful this season.”

Three of the team, Gareth Stephens, Jacob Overstall and Dylan Rogers, have been selected for the Surrey U14 squad and another, Matthew Harrison, is a member of the Harlequins School of Rugby.
