Options, opportunities and apprenticeships

Pupils from the Royal Alexandra and Albert School attended the Surrey Youth Festival at Epsom Downs Racecourse on 27th September. The Festival was organised to help young people will learn about the range of options available to them when they leave school.

There were over 60 exhibitors colleges, training providers, employers seeking apprentices and volunteering organisations on hand to present the full breadth of opportunities available and
- Raise awareness of how apprentice schemes work.
- Raise awareness of the options open to young people after the age of 16.
- Give young people the opportunity to sign-up for further education, training or employment on the day.

Year 9-11 Pupils were able to participate in workshops, the marketplace exhibition and interactive breakout activities and had an opportunity to gain information, advice and guidance from both educational establishments and employers.

A 13 year old pupil was one of 6 lucky winners at the Neighbour Training stand. He successfully answered questions on English, Maths and IT and was awarded a £15 iTunes voucher.
