Run, fun and fancy dress for Sports Relief supporters

Junior pupils at The Royal Alexandra and Albert School dressed up as their favourite sports star as part of a Sports Relief fundraising day on 20th March 2008. The pupils demonstrated their commitment to the cause by completing a one-mile cross-country run whilst still in fancy dress, despite appalling weather conditions. However, they thoroughly enjoyed the slightly less muddy activity of Kids vs Teachers ‘Question of Sport’ despite the teachers emerging triumphant.

There was a competition for the best ‘Sports Star’ outfit and the winners were
Alexander Newell as Footballer, Gary Linaker
Matilda Castrey as Racing Driver, Nigel Mansell
Lewis Creech as Boxer, Ricky Hatton
Cavan Becksmith as Snooker player, Stephen Hendry
Hugo Sherlock as Rower, Steve Redgrave
Alexandra Pearce as Ice dancer, Jayne Torville

Headmaster, Paul Spencer Ellis said ‘The children clearly enjoyed participating and raising money for Sports Relief.’
