A Level & BTEC Results 2025

Royal Alexandra and Albert School Celebrate Exceptional Achievements in 2025 Level 3 Results

The Royal Alexandra and Albert School is delighted to share the fantastic Level 3 results achieved by our Year 13 students. We are proud of the commitment, resilience and ambition shown by our students, which has been reflected in their excellent performance this year.

Our students have achieved 69% A*–C grades in their Level 3 qualifications. Results were particularly strong in Business, Psychology, and Sociology, where many students attained top grades. We are also thrilled to announce exceptional outcomes in the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), undertaken by Year 12 and Year 13 students. An impressive 95% of students achieved an A*–C grade, with 71% securing A*–A, an increase on last year’s already excellent results in both categories.

BTEC results continue to be a real strength of the school, with an average grade of Distinction. This year, 52% of BTEC students attained either a Distinction* or Distinction. The Health and Social Care cohort performed especially well, with 83% achieving Distinction or above.

In terms of destinations, an impressive three-quarters of our Year 13 cohort have secured either their firm or insurance place at university. This year’s leavers are progressing to some of the most respected universities in the country, including Durham, Southampton and Sheffield, to study a range of highly competitive subjects. Among them are seven aspiring lawyers, four future engineers spanning disciplines from Chemical to Aerospace, a student beginning their journey into Dentistry, and a student embarking on the highly selective Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) course. These achievements reflect not only our students’ ambition and ability, but also the dedication and encouragement of our teaching staff in helping them realise their goals.

Semira, who joined the school in Year 12, has achieved an outstanding set of results: A* in Psychology, A* in Biology, and an A in Chemistry. Speaking moments after opening her results envelope, Semira said, “I came in with my friends, and when I saw those A*s, I just screamed. I knew I wanted to come into school and see everyone because I love my teachers and they’re so supportive. Throughout the two years, I have been a very anxious person, but they have always believed in me and reassured me that I would get the grades. I was so happy to see my Chemistry and Biology teachers. I just ran up and hugged them, to say ‘thank you, you gave me that grade’!” Semira will take the next step in her academic journey at the University of Manchester, where she will study Biochemistry.

Archie, who achieved A* in Economics, A in Maths, and an A in Politics, said, “I am really happy with my results. I have been here seven years since 2018, and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. As I say, I owe everything to this school.” Archie is now going to Durham University to study Politics, Philosophy and Economics.

Headteacher, Mr Thomas, said, “This year’s results are a testament to the persistence, curiosity, and ambition our students have shown throughout their time at our school. Each grade represents countless hours of effort, collaboration, and growth, and we could not be prouder of what they have accomplished. As they step into the next chapter, whether that’s at university, an apprenticeship, or entering the world of work, we are confident they will continue to make their mark. We wish them every success as they take their next steps.”
