Boarding in the Sixth Form

At Royal Alexandra and Albert School, boarding at Sixth Form offers an opportunity for students to immerse themselves in their academic and personal development. Boarding constitutes a significant aspect of life within our Sixth Form community. Approximately 65% of our students opt for full boarding, while the remaining 35% choose the non-boarding package.

With a supportive and nurturing environment, our boarding provides students with a structured yet flexible approach to their studies.

Benefits of Boarding

Boarding fosters a sense of independence and self-reliance. Students learn invaluable life skills such as time management, problem-solving and collaboration as they navigate the responsibilities of daily life living with their peers and friends.

Beyond academic pursuits, boarding offers opportunities for greater co-curricular involvement. Students have access to a wide range of co-curricular activities and leadership roles within the boarding community, allowing them to explore their interests and talents.

The supportive network within the boarding community further enhances students’ progress. Heads of House, Deputy Heads of House, Matrons and Tutors provide guidance, encouragement and pastoral care, ensuring that students feel supported in every aspect of their lives.

Our school features eight boarding houses, four of which offer dedicated Sixth Form accommodation.
