Boarding Houses
Gloucester House
Gloucester is the school’s only Junior boarding house for boys and girls aged 7-10.
The Gloucester House name is linked to the patronage of the Dukes and Duchesses of Gloucester and their long association with the school. The Duke of Gloucester became President of the school in 1948. In 1954, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester visited the school, with the Duchess of Gloucester planting a tree near the entrance to Reception, which can still be seen to this day. Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Gloucester is the school’s Patron and makes regular visits to the school to celebrate significant events and milestones.
The Head of House is Mrs Michelle Mclaughlin.
Michelle has worked in boarding at the Royal Alexandra and Albert School for over 20 years. She is highly experienced, having worked for many years with Senior girls and boys at the school. However, she is at her happiest nurturing the school’s youngest students.
Affectionately known as Mrs Mac to the children, she proudly leads a team who aim to give our young boarders and students the best boarding experience, making Gloucester House safe, homely, friendly, caring and vibrant.
Michelle lives in Gloucester with her cats, Lennie and Reggie.
