Sixth Form Requirements
For the Sixth Form we have a general requirement that a pupil must achieve above a certain level in five separate subjects. These levels are a grade C or above at GCSE and a Merit or above at BTEC / OCR National.
In addition each Sixth Form subject has its own minimum requirement which is to ensure that anyone taking the course has a reasonable chance of success. This may mean, in a few cases, that a pupil has to choose subjects in the light of their GCSE results and not according to their original wishes.
For September 2012 we believe there will be a small number of Boarding spaces for external applicants but there are likely to be very few Day Boarding places for local applicants. External applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
External applicants
In order to be considered for an interview external applicants will need a reference confirming suitability for AS/A2 study and predicted grades provided by their current school
In addition external applicants should ideally have an unconditional offer for a place in the sixth form of their current school, or from the sixth form for which the current school is a feeder school
All pupils will be expected to study three, four or occasionally five AS subjects in the Lower Sixth and a minimum of three subjects in the Upper Sixth
All Sixth Formers are expected to adhere to the Sixth Form Standards which are detailed in the Sixth Form Handbook.
