In this section:
A Sixth Form with a sense of community
The strong ethos
of the secondary school will be
carried through to the new Sixth Form.
In practice this means;
- Maximising academic achievement
whilst
developing well-rounded individuals - Wide choice of courses
which include 'A' levels,
BTECs and diplomas - Support for admission into
the top universities
(including Oxbridge) as well as vocational support
for pupils who choose alternative career paths - Emphasis on the student's
role as a member of the
community
Sixth Form students will be very much a part of the whole school and will be expected to mentor younger pupils, help to run clubs and activities and lead school projects e.g. fundraising.
There will be opportunities for
students to stretch themselves
with various enrichment activities;
- Gold Duke of Edinburgh
- Building homes for orphan children in Uganda
- Sports and societies
- Workshops, seminars and conferences
Our ethos in the Sixth Form
is summed up in our A.C.E model with each student
at the very heart of what we do.

We believe that if students give themselves fully to each area, they will grow into well-rounded, well-educated, multi-talented and mature individuals who will stand out from the crowd.
Academic
A strong ethos exists which nurtures, encourages
and supports a culture of high academic standards
and expectations. An appetite for learning is
clearly engendered amongst students encouraging
discussion, debate and discovery.
Community
The concept of making a difference and giving
back to the community is a fundamental element
of
Sixth Form life. Students will be expected to
contribute and serve in the school and local community
through a wide range of initiatives and will also
be given the opportunity to build a house for
orphan children in Uganda.
Enrichment
There is no disputing the fact that life in the
Sixth Form will be challenging yet exciting. The
enrichment area allows students to develop their
interests and skills through a wide variety of
clubs, societies and other events which gives
students a welcome respite from study. The student
elected committee plays an instrumental role in
many social events throughout the year culminating
in the Leavers Ball at the end of Year 13.
