P-P-Pic of a Penguin Wins Competition

10 year old Lee Cox-White had never seen himself as a strong artist but he has just won a competition to design a Christmas card. His engaging penguin drawing was selected from the many UK entries as one of only three designs that will be used on Christmas cards for the NSPCC. The design will be used on printed cards, e-cards and in other Christmas themed publications and will help the NSPCC to raise much-needed funds for their charity work.

The NSPCC is giving all the winning entries a certificate, goody bag and pack of cards with their own design.

Lee said “Penguins are my favourite Christmas thing. They are cute animals and I enjoyed drawing the picture of a penguin. I am really pleased that my design will be on a card.”

Dr Ines Salman Head of the Junior Department commented “We have an artist in residence who worked with the children to produce Christmas card designs. Lee worked hard to produce his penguin picture and is justifiably proud of his achievement.”
