Land Based Courses

Our unique surroundings allow us to run a number of land-based courses including Countryside and Environment, Small Animal Care and Horse Management.

These courses are run within the park taking full advantage of our setting. In addition to the examination courses all pupils have an opportunity to work and learn within the park. For example, Year 9 have taken part in wood clearance and have created a trim trail for use by pupils. And many other pupils take part in extracurricular land-based activities.

A large number of our pupils take part in riding activities both within and alongside the curriculum. Their skills and knowledge are further enhanced by taking part in external horse riding events and competitions.
