INDEPENDENT BOARDING SCHOOL
"This boarding school is outstanding" - Ofsted
An independent, state boarding school means affordable boarding without compromising on quality. This is achieved by partial government funding so the parent only has to pay boarding fees, rather than for the entire education of their children.
There are only 35 state boarding schools in the country which makes places at the Royal Alexandra hard to get. Last year, the School’s academic results surpassed the national average in all key government measures at GCSE; and Sixth Formers secured places at some of the country’s top universities, including the universities of Cambridge, Bristol and Durham.
The grounds of our boarding school are over 260 acres of parkland in Surrey, close to London. The land is private and we have 450 boys and girls boarding here. The ages range from 7 to 18 years old. Boarders live at the School during term time but can go home at weekends after Saturday school. We also have 550 local pupils known as Flexi Boarders, who have all their meals and activities at the School but return home in the evenings.
We believe in character development as well as education, and believe the two go perfectly hand-in-hand.
