The Royal Alexandra and Albert School has an ongoing programme of developments to accommodate increasing pupil numbers, upgrade existing buildings, and develop new facilities. Considerable investment has been made in the School to ensure it can continue to offer excellent educational and out-of-school facilities to pupils. Since 2002, over £5m has been invested in the School.

Boarding House Extensions	Complete the programme of adding ground floor extensions to all boarding houses
Riding School	New outdoor riding school and stable block

2011	Restore gardens in front of Gatton Hall	Remove tennis courts and restore the parterre to its former glory
	Boarding House Extension	Ground floor extension to Cornwall House
	Dining Hall	Extend Dining Hall, refurbish kitchens and add another servery
2010	Sixth Form Annexes	Extensions to Alexandra House and Kent House, each with 21 ensuite study bedrooms for Sixth Formers.
	Sixth Form Centre	Sunley House remodelled to become the Bernard Sunley Sixth Form Centre, with internet café, computer suites, resource centre and quiet study areas.
2009	New science block and dance studio	New science labs, additional classrooms and a dance and fitness studio.
	New sports pitches	All weather floodlit sports pitch All weather athletics strip New floodlit netball courts
2008	Boarding House Extension	Ground floor extension for Gloucester House
2007	Boarding House Extensions	Ground floor extensions constructed in Elizabeth and Albert houses
	Gatton Hall IT suite	IT suite created
	School reception and administrative office	Remodelled
	Indoor riding school	Indoor riding school constructed
	Junior School	Cloakrooms refurbished
	Cricket pavilion	Cricket pavilion constructed
	Dining Hall	Dining Hall furniture replaced
	Hop Garden Pond	Dredged and new parkland railings
2006	Rank Weston boarding house	Major refurbishment including all bathrooms/shower rooms, accommodation, boilers and pipework
	Junior playground	Three additional classrooms constructed
	Covered play area/ball courts	All weather facility for ball games
	Bothy Music Centre	Music Centre extended and soundproofed. Practice rooms installed
	Gatton Hall	Boarding bathroom and shower facilities upgraded
	Food Technology Suite	Refitted to provide up to date facilities and additional workstations
	Health Centre and PE annexe	Roof replaced
	Performing Arts	Work commenced to convert gymnasium into a Performing Arts Centre
	Swimming pool	Boiler plant replaced
2005	School	Refurbishment of school cloakrooms
	School	Creation of a larger staff common room
	Kitchen	Boiler plant replaced
2004	Boarding Houses	£2.6 million refurbishment programme completed. High quality shower facilities and 2,3,4 bed study bedrooms
	Dining Hall	Roof replaced and dining hall refurbished. Cloakrooms refurbished.
	Dry Arch	Historic parkland arch restored

	Millennium Stones	Gift received from the Jerusalem Trust
2003	Boarding Houses	Refurbishment programme commenced and four houses completed. Programme involved replacement of boilers and heating systems as well as installation of high quality bath/shower facilities and creation of study bedrooms.
2002	Footpaths	Construction of footpath from Gatton Hall to Monson Road
	Engine Pond	Dam repaired and pond dredged
	Lower pastures	Fencing installed
2001	Sports Hall	Refurbished
2000	Boarding houses	Re-roofed
