THE LATEST ON THE WEATHER SITUATION - this will be frequently updated

Sunday 8.15 pm A brisk walk around the School reveals a mixed result. In some areas melting snow continues to drip from trees and there is slush underfoot. However on some road surfaces the snow now glistens, indicating that the surface is frozen. There is still a steady trickle of cars driving on to the site. ...............................5.30 pm. Darkness is now falling and the lights around the School are reflecting brightly on the snow. The slush is still not freezing but it is cold. ................... Sunday 2.15 pm It is thawing very slightly. The problem will be if it freezes tonight the roads will become a sheet of black ice. The M25 appears to be flowing OK. Local roads are open and there is traffic both ways along Rocky Lane, though i would not dare to drive down "Long Rocky" to the London Road / A23. I am about to post photos of Rocky Lane and Gatton Bottom to show the condition of the roads ................................ Sunday 9.00 am. There is between three and six inches of snow in the School. Matt is busy with the snowplough clearing all the roads in school and making paths to all boarding houses and clearing the entrance to the Dining Hall. One car has come on site after being pushed up "Short Rocky Lane" that is to say from Gatton Bottom. I would not advise anyone to try to drive into school at the moment. Photos will be posted ina few minutes on my Photo Diary .......................................Saturday 9.10 pm. There is now a 2 centimetre layer of snow on the roads in School. Cars are still coming in and out and i have just seen an Occado van delivering on site but i have to admit I would not wish to drive this evening. I am not sure if it is a Met Office measure of weather but the dog is asleep in front of the fire and both cats are also sitting in armchairs near the fire !...................................Saturday 6.30 pm It is minus 1.5 degrees and there is a very very fine fine layer of snow beginning to form as it is snowing very lightly . It is settling on the roadways which are very cold buyt is not really visible on the grass..................................Saturday 12.00 noon. No longer sunshine but still pretty cold. The sort of weather for a (short) healthy walk ! ......................................... Saturday 8.40 am. Minus 3 degrees but the sun is shining brightly.

Sixth Form Admissions - early application advised

For September 2012 we believe there will be a small number of Boarding spaces for external applicants but there are likely to be very few Day Boarding places for local applicants. External applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
